In the hot summer, museums are a great place to cool off
Last month, we visited the Hong Kong Museum of Art
Chinese Fragrance Culture Art Exhibition "Searching for Fragrance"
Explore the traditional Chinese fragrance culture
"Searching for Fragrance" showcases the importance of fragrance culture in Chinese culture, life and art through a variety of exhibits, including spices, incense burners and artworks. China's aromatic culture has a long history. The aroma lingers in ancestral temples and elegant rooms of literati. It is not only a tool for ancestor worship, but also enriches the daily life of the ancients and carries the pursuit of self-cultivation and enlightenment by literati. With the changes in incense materials and craftsmanship, incense burning techniques have gradually become more sophisticated, and specialized incense burners and incense utensils have appeared one after another. The exhibition is curated by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum, and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It displays 160 cultural relics and takes the audience on a thousand-year-old journey of searching for fragrance, allowing them to experience the wisdom of the ancients in using fragrance to nourish their nature.
