A cost-effective braised food shop in Causeway Bay

Chiu Lam Garden Braised Food King

This time I want to introduce a famous braised food shop in Causeway Bay called "Chiu Lam Garden Braised Food King." This braised food shop always has long queues, whether for takeout or dine-in, it’s very popular. There is one step outside the shop, so wheelchair users need to bring their own ramp to enter. Once inside, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, no matter how busy they are. Although the shop is quite small, they will help me find the most suitable spot for wheelchair users to sit. This aspect really deserves praise!

1. Signature Braised Goose Slices (Regular) $148 (9.5/10)
If you know, you must order this dish of goose slices. The braised sauce is perfectly balanced. Besides the great sauce, the goose is excellent too. The slices have a good balance of fat and lean meat, and the goose meat is fresh and delicious. Underneath the goose slices, there are four large pieces of tofu that have absorbed all the essence of the goose and braised sauce—unbeatable!

2. Freshly Braised Cuttlefish $88 (9.5/10)
The cuttlefish is sliced into pieces, each very tender and chewy. The portion is generous, about 16 slices. Underneath the cuttlefish, there are boiled peanuts that have soaked up the braised sauce. The sauce is rich but not salty, with a slight sweetness—delicious!

3. Chiu Chow Preserved Vegetables $68 (9/10)
Even I, who don’t usually like vegetables, find this bowl of Chiu Chow preserved vegetables tasty. The vegetables absorb the fragrant oil from the pork belly. The texture is like softened choy sum, and the soup has a slightly bitter and sweet mustard green flavor. I even drank all the soup, but the vegetables were so much I couldn’t finish them all!

4. A Bowl of White Rice $12 (9/10)
Ordered two bowls of white rice. With such delicious dishes, how can you not have rice!

5. Cola $10 (10/10)
No one to drink alcohol with me, so I just ordered a cola!
