Not sure where to go for the Mid-Autumn Festival? This time, I came to Shahrazad located in Central. The restaurant’s decor is full of exotic vibes, making you feel like you’re in Turkey. The environment is very comfortable and clean. I had the restaurant’s Express Lunch Set, which offers four dishes for $158 in Central. The portions are generous, and the value for money is quite high.

First up was the daily soup, which had a rich flavor with Middle Eastern characteristics and a smooth texture, making it a perfect appetizer. For the salad, we each chose one type; the vegetables were fresh and crisp, quite good. The kale was also very fresh and had a nice texture when eaten.

For the next dish, the Mezze, you can choose from Hummus beetroot, Mutabal, or Falafel. We chose Mutabal and Falafel. The Mutabal eggplant puree was dense and delicate, with a unique smoky aroma that paired well with the slight sourness of the yogurt. The Falafel was crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a golden, crunchy exterior and a dense, layered texture inside.

For the main course, we had the barramundi fillet and lamb skewers. The barramundi fillet was fresh and tender, with a distinctive flavor. The lamb skewers were a pleasant surprise, perfectly charcoal-grilled with a strong meaty aroma and very little gamey taste.

For dessert, it was caramel pudding. The pudding was bouncy and had a strong egg flavor. The key was the caramel sweetness, which was just right and not too cloying.
