This exhibition is thanks to the Hong Kong collectors, Mr. and Mrs. Sin Cho Kiam! Mr. Sin started passionately collecting snuff bottles in 1989, spending decades building the "Floating Cloud Pavilion" collection kingdom ✨ Jade, agate, tourmaline, ceramics... the variety of materials is dazzling, each like a miniature treasure set in the palm of your hand! After Mr. Sin passed away, Mrs. Shek Wan Yuk donated the entire collection so we can admire these rare masterpieces up close!
Though small, snuff bottles boast incredible craftsmanship! The inside-painted snuff bottles are the most stunning—artists use ultra-fine brushes to paint inside the bottle walls in reverse 🖌️ Landscapes, flowers, birds, poetry, and stories fill the tiny space with a whole world! Qing dynasty literati used them as social currency, and emperors gave them as gifts to ministers, making them a top-tier status symbol!
We recommend spending an hour to explore slowly! From carved patterns to glaze luster, every detail tells a century-old story~ Hurry and invite your friends, missing such a thoughtful exhibition would be a real loss!
