Affordable Shanghai-style Lunch

In Tsuen Wan's Maritime Square, there's a Shanghai restaurant with a pretty authentic decor, offering great value for lunch.

For 58 HKD, no service charge, you get tea and mustard, plus complimentary soy milk, hot or cold, at no extra cost. You can also add snacks, dim sum, and desserts at discounted prices. Although tea and mustard are free, they still serve you tea, with options like Pu'er, chrysanthemum, and ginseng oolong.

The dan dan noodles are quite decent; the soup base has some spiciness but lacks complexity, and the noodles are on the softer side. The scallion oil noodles are also rather soft, but for this price, it's more than acceptable.

Added xiao long bao, and at least the skin isn’t too thick, with some soup inside.

The cold soy milk is great because it’s really cold and not bland, pretty good overall…
