🪷 Tsz Shan Monastery – A Memorable Experience in Hong Kong 🪷

My visit to Tsz Shan Monastery was one of the most memorable experiences I've had in Hong Kong 🙏. This temple isn't just for entry, as reservations must be made at least a month in advance through the website 🗓️, making it feel special even before your trip.

Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the peaceful atmosphere 🌿🏞️, surrounded by mountains and nature. It felt like I had completely relinquished my sense of place from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.

The temple offers a wide variety of activities ✨, including collecting stamps at various locations ⛩️, a fun and engaging way to explore and practice meditation. There's also a Chinese calligraphy activity 🖌️, which emphasizes mindfulness and concentration. (While I didn't try it because it took so much time, I saw many people writing it calmly.)

A must-see is the large Guanyin Bodhisattva 🙌, which stands 76 meters tall and towers over the temple and is visible from far away. This is a beautiful and peaceful sight. 🌸

Tsz Shan Monastery was built with donations from the famous billionaire Li Ka-Shing 💎 as a place for practicing Dharma and spreading Mahayana Buddhism. The temple took over 10 years to construct and opened to the public in 2015. It stands out for its blend of traditional Chinese architecture with modern touches and is one of the most peaceful and quiet temples in Hong Kong.
