The world's tallest outdoor bronze seated Buddha

Tian Tan Buddha, known as one of Lantau Island's most famous tourist attractions, is a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha located on Muk Yu Peak in front of Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Located at an altitude of 520 meters in Ngong Ping, it is the world's tallest outdoor bronze seated Buddha.

The statue sits atop 268 stone steps. Composed of 207 copper plates (165 for the body, 36 for the lotus, and 6 for the cloud head), it stands 26.4 meters tall. Including the lotus seat and pedestal, it stands approximately 34 meters tall and weighs 250 metric tons. It sits on a three-tiered altar.
