[Good place for families] Enjoy the red azaleas in the Japanese park + the cherry blossom trees in the bicycle park

#WhiteDay
, our family went to #Tseung Kwan O for a walk.
Tseung Kwan O is very familiar to me. My mom used to study at HKUST and often visited here. She also worked here for more than ten years. She can be said to be a bit of a local.
.
But I have never been to #Tseung Kwan O South Waterfront Promenade
Because I go home to hang out after work, I don't have time to go out on weekdays.
.
This time it happens to be White Day
, take two lovers to the beach for a romantic walk
.
We started from Tseung Kwan O MTR Station, exited from Exit A2, turned right and walked straight to the seaside, which is about a 10-minute walk.
Let's go to the beach first
Have lunch at the restaurant. There are restaurants serving cuisine from different countries to choose from along the seafront. This time we chose to eat Indian food and ordered Indian naan, butter chicken curry, and garden salad.
, stir-fry, pumpkin pudding, mango sticky rice and Pina Thai Coolada
. The naan and butter chicken curry tasted really good. The mango sticky rice is unique in that it uses three colors of rice, including purple, white and light purple. The light purple rice has the scent of jasmine flowers, which is very special.
Since we didn't book a table, we could only sit indoors. It would be more chill if we could sit outdoors.
.
Then walk along the seaside promenade, enjoy the sea breeze and look at the different types of boats in the sea.
, it feels very healing.
The children ran along the beach
and watch the boat
, already lottery
~
We walked to #Wenquli Park in #Kengkou, the gate is full of #Japanese architectural style
.
There is a fish pond in the park, and children are watching koi
and turtle
, very satisfied
.
There are also hundreds of flowers blooming in the park
, there are the Bauhinia scabra, which is particularly in full bloom this year (as if to tell everyone not to worry about not being able to go to Japan to enjoy the cherry blossoms this year)
and disappointment) and rhododendrons of different colors, etc. Normally we see pink azaleas, but here there is a more special bright red azalea (also known as fiery red azalea). A vast sea of flowers, a great place to check in. (But there are more domestic helpers on Sundays, and they sit in the lowest position for a longer time on that day.
)
Follow us to the quarantined #bikingpark
In addition to the exhibition of Hong Kong cyclists’ uniforms, there is also an eye-catching children’s playground.
. (However, due to the epidemic, it is not open)
There is also a bicycle rental shop downstairs in the cycling hall, where you can rent bicycles
. (There is a price list in the comments section. I think it is a bit expensive. I really miss the bicycle park in Tai Wai.
)
In the nearby pool, some people were playing with model boats.
The children were overwhelmed by the sight.
.
Finally, we walked to the #bicyclepark to enjoy the cherry blossoms
(#Yoshinocherry). There are 3 trees in full bloom, surrounded by many passers-by.
The grass of the entire bicycle park was also filled with tents and many people.
So we walked to the open space near the sports climbing wall #吹泡泡 and then took the bus home, ending our half-day trip to Tseung Kwan O.
postscript
If you want to enjoy the cherry blossoms
, it might be better to go in the morning on weekdays. There are too many people and it’s not fun. And the number is small, so we can only say "hold on first". And be aware that the flowering period is limited.
The activities that made the children happiest were watching fish, turtles, boats and blowing bubbles. For cherry blossom viewing
, I don't know how to appreciate
. If you just want to discharge your energy, I suggest you go to Wenquli Park!
There are few people, and you can run around and see animals and flowers~
