Huaihua is a charming city rich in historical culture and natural scenery.
Itinerary
- Day 1: Depart from Huaihua in the morning and take a direct bus to Qianyang Ancient Town. Enjoy the bluestone roads and Ming and Qing dynasty old houses, and have tea at Furong Tower. In the afternoon, take a taxi to Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City to experience the charm of "China's First Ancient Commercial City." Return to Qianyang Ancient Town in the evening to enjoy the night view of the Yuan River Scenic Belt.
- Day 2: In the morning, leave Qianyang Ancient Town and head to Huaihua South Bus Station. Take a shuttle bus to Tongdao Wanfo Mountain to admire the Danxia landform and glass plank road. In the afternoon, drive or charter a car to Yutou Dong Village to experience the original Dong ethnic village atmosphere. In the evening, watch a lusheng (reed-pipe wind instrument) performance.
- Day 3: Walk from Yutou Dong Village to Huangdu Dong Cultural Village in the morning to experience folk activities such as door-blocking wine and Dong brocade making. In the afternoon, visit Zhijiang Surrender Memorial Arch to learn about the Anti-Japanese War history, then go to Longjin Wind and Rain Bridge to admire the beauty of the world's longest Dong ethnic wind and rain bridge before returning.
Accommodation Recommendations
- Huaihua City: If you want to stay in the city, we recommend Huaihua Huatai Phoenix International Hotel, a family-friendly hotel with a trendy swimming pool and views of the CBD outside the window; you can also choose Atour Hotel near Huaihua South High-Speed Railway Station, equipped with high-end Sealy mattresses for a great sleep experience.
- Qianyang Ancient Town: Yuanjiang Bieyuan is recommended, with excellent river view rooms that allow you to fully enjoy the scenery of the Yuan River.
- Tongdao Dong Village: Yueye Dong Village Song Hall Theme Hotel is a good choice, where you can listen to Dong grand songs at night and feel the strong ethnic atmosphere.
Food Recommendations
- Breakfast: Try Zhijiang duck rice noodles, with fresh soup and tender meat, very delicious.
- Lunch: Recommended dishes include Tongdao pickled fish and blood rice cake duck. The blood rice cake duck is spicy and delicious, and the blood rice cake is soft and tasty.
- Night Market: Head to Huaihua Central Market to try sour radish and rice tofu. The sour radish is sweet, sour, and crispy, a perfect appetizer.
Transportation Guide
- External Transportation: You can take the high-speed train to Huaihua South Station, where buses and taxis are available; or fly to Huaihua Zhijiang Airport, then take the airport shuttle bus or taxi to the city.
- Internal Transportation: To reach various scenic spots, you can take shuttle buses. For example, to Tongdao Wanfo Mountain, take a bus from Huaihua South Bus Station; to Zhijiang, take a bus from Huaihua West Bus Station. If shuttle buses are inconvenient, you can also rent a car or charter a vehicle.
