▪️ Transportation Suggestions
After taking the high-speed train to "Huaihua South Station":
Rent a car for self-driving, about 100+ RMB per day, flexibly traveling through ancient villages and sea of clouds
Or take a carpool to Qianyang Ancient Town, then hop on a local minibus to explore the surrounding area
📖 Two-day tour itinerary:
𝐷𝑎𝑦 1: Qianyang Ancient Town — Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City (overnight at a guesthouse renovated from a Ming and Qing dynasty old residence)
𝐷𝑎𝑦 2: Gaoyi Ancient Village — Return trip
📸 Must-not-miss experiences:
❶ Qianyang Ancient Town:
At six in the early morning, fishermen are already trading freshly caught fish from the Yuan River at Zhongzhengmen Pier. Walk into Furong Tower, see the confluence of rivers, reminiscent of Wang Changling’s “Ice Heart Jade Pot.” Then visit the old post office on Nanzheng Street and send a postcard stamped with a Qing dynasty postmark.
❷ Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City:
380 Ming and Qing dynasty buildings quietly stand in the alleys. Once a bustling "Southwest Grand View Garden" for merchants, you can still touch the old sites of money shops, tobacco houses, and escort agencies.
❸ Gaoyi Ancient Village:
The entire village sits steadily in the mountains like a grand official’s chair. 104 ancient houses are arranged in a Bagua (Eight Trigrams) pattern, blending Gan-style white walls, Dong ethnic wooden buildings, and Xiangxi sunken houses in a wonderful fusion.
