Introducing Jinbi Park

Jinbi Park was the first park in old Kunming, located on the site of the current First People's Hospital of Kunming on Jinbi Road. It was named after the nearby Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway. Because it was the only park at the time, it was simply referred to as "the park."

The main gate of Jinbi Park faces north, on present-day Jinbi Road. Upon entering, there's a fountain, behind which stands a rocky mountain, and behind that a large screen wall. Passing the screen wall, one reaches a vast grove of plum trees. In the center of the garden lies a large flower bed. Flanked by small pavilions: "Cape," "Yanyue," "Huayu," and "Wangyun." To the east of the garden lies the Pear Garden. From there, southward along the park's eastern wall, lie the Flower Garden, the Date Garden, the Chrysanthemum Garden, the Apple Orchard, and the Botanical Garden.

Directly south of the Plum Garden is the park's central building, the Merchandise Exhibition Hall. To the east of the exhibition hall are the Minerals Hall and the Agriculture and Forestry Hall. In the center of the square south of the exhibition hall stands a bronze statue of Yang Zhenhong, a Kunming native and a martyr of the 1911 Revolution. South of the statue is a pond with two small islands, each connected to the mainland by a bridge and housing a small pavilion. The entire park is lush with trees and vibrant flowers, and the pond, pavilions, rockery, flower beds, and bronze statues are strategically arranged in a staggered pattern, making it a popular destination for recreation and leisure for Kunming residents at the time.

The park has a subtropical plateau monsoon climate; the park has beautiful scenery, lush flowers and plants, and a full range of facilities.
