Compared to the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, I really want to recommend this unfading glazed pagoda✨
Who would have thought! I just came back from the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda not long ago, and then I was immediately amazed by the Feihong Pagoda at Guangsheng Temple, hitting my thigh in awe!😭 This shade of green has lasted 600 years, not even shaken by earthquakes, and under the sunlight, the glazed color shines as if it was freshly fired—truly a living miracle~💚
And it’s a double delight for fans! The dazzling pagoda in the animation "Black Myth: Wukong" is modeled after this one, and the 1987 version of "Journey to the West" also filmed scenes here📽️ Standing under the pagoda and looking up, every level is embedded with exquisite Buddha statues, flowers, birds, and flying apsaras. The details made from glazed tiles are even more vivid than in picture books. The craftsmanship of the ancients really deserves our respect!🙏
After visiting the upper temple’s pagoda, don’t leave yet—the Water God Temple in the lower temple hides even bigger surprises🎨 The Yuan Dynasty murals are preserved as if painted yesterday, depicting market scenes, theater performances, brewing... all showing the daily life of the Song and Yuan periods. You can even clearly see the expressions on the characters’ faces, making it ten thousand times more interesting than reading history books!🖌️
💡My tested itinerary:
First rush to the upper temple to see the glazed pagoda; the morning sunlight is perfect for photos. Have a bowl of beef meatball noodles nearby at noon, then leisurely visit the lower temple to see the murals in the afternoon—the pace is just right~
💰Tickets are 68 yuan, allowing you to see two national treasure-level buildings. The cost performance is unbeatable!
🚗Transportation is convenient too: take the high-speed train from Xi’an to Hongtong, then a 20-minute taxi ride to the site. You can also take the bus, but it’s slower. I recommend taking a taxi to save time~
Before coming to Shanxi, I really didn’t expect this small city of Linfen to hide such stunning treasures! I kept looking back as I left, feeling like I hadn’t seen enough... If you love ancient architecture, promise me you must come here. It’s definitely more amazing than you imagine!❤️
