It is located on the promenade of Mihonoseki Lighthouse. The name is said to refer to the island floating in the sea 4km from the center of this torii gate, called "Okino-Gozen," and the island below, called "Jino-Gozen." It is said to be the fishing island of Kotoshironushi-no-kami (the deity worshipped at Miho Shrine, commonly known as Ebisu-sama). It is an exclave of Miho Shrine. If it were sunny, you would be able to see Okino-Gozen beyond the torii gate, but unfortunately it was cloudy. It was a mysterious place of remote worship.
