Sunrise at Diamond Head

Start your morning in Hawaii here 🌴🐦

📌 Diamond Head requires reservations 🎫‼️
👉 You need to book online in advance 📱
Be aware that you cannot enter if you just show up on the day ⚠️

🏖️ Atmosphere
It’s very crowded! Some locals use it as a running course, so be mindful while climbing ⛰️.
At 6 AM, it’s pitch dark, but it gradually gets brighter!
On the way back, the temperature rises, and it gets quite hot 🫠.

🕰️ Hours: From 6 AM
The season for viewing the sunrise is said to be from mid-November to mid-March (winter to spring) 😌.
I climbed it on February 24, 2025 🌅.

🎒 Don’t forget comfortable shoes, water, and a flashlight (essential when it’s dark)!

⚠️ According to the official website, even two weeks in advance, it might be hard to get a reservation for the sunrise 🌅 time slot 🥹.
In such cases, consider booking a sunrise tour, though it’s pricier. Tour companies seem to reserve a certain number of slots for the 6:00 AM entry at Diamond Head ✨.
I managed to book a reservation even the day before!

💰 Price per person
• Adults: $5 per person (Free for children under 3)

🚗 If arriving by car

• Commercial vehicles (e.g., tour buses):

• 8–25 passengers: $50 per vehicle
