Hidden in Hsinchu Market: a Hipster Café

Tucked away in a small alley near Zhulian Market in Hsinchu City, Chen Zhai Ka Fei is a charming old-house café. The single-family house is sparsely decorated, but its use of wooden tables, leather chairs, antique furniture, and industrial elements gives the space a hipster vibe.

Some old houses feature a wealth of items from the 1970s and 1980s to create a nostalgic atmosphere. This is fine, but the problem is that sometimes too much clutter can lose its original meaning. Chen Zhai Ka Fei strikes the perfect balance, capturing a nostalgic feel without feeling overly edgy.

The Flora Iced Coffee I had that day, after a long fermentation and washing process, had a noticeable aftertaste. The tea pudding was delicious, with a rich milky aroma and a perfect balance of sweetness. Served on a small, antique porcelain plate, it evoked a particularly nostalgic feeling.

The second floor is reserved for art exhibitions, which change the theme from time to time. Interested parties can visit the official fan page for more information.
