Hualien-Qin Buzhizi Sea Trail: A transparent glass trail on the cliff

#2月好地方2025

During a three-day and two-night trip to Hualien, we came to a small attraction on the east coast, the "Qin Buzhizi Sea Trail". The entrance is located next to the Xinfeng Tunnel. The plank road is built vertically along the cliffs on the sea with a steel structure and reinforced glass. It is about 20 meters long and the entire road is transparent. There are rock walls above and sea tides below. Walking on it is a bit scary!

The origin of the name "Parents Don't Know Their Children" is a bit sad. According to legend, in the past, there was a tribal woman who was carrying her child on her back while walking through this ancient trail. As there was no rope on the wooden bridge, she could only rely on vines growing on the cliff to move forward. The woman was too nervous and only found out after she passed the ancient trail that her child was gone!

Although the trail is no longer dangerous after reconstruction, you need to wear a safety helmet before setting foot on the ancient trail to prevent hitting the rock wall above. The old Xinfeng Tunnel has been transformed into a small store and exhibition area. After walking along the glass walkway, you can return through the tunnel and take a stroll around.
