Walking Through the Cracks of Time: A Dialogue with the Mountains

Following the eastern section of the Batongguan Historic Trail, the Walami Trail feels like a quietly flowing river of memories, guiding us through forests and history.
On both sides of the trail are layered mountain ridges, clear streams, and the lively chirping of birds. Along the way, you may encounter groups of monkeys and Formosan muntjacs, like the native guardians of the mountains, silently watching over this path to the past.
This place is not only a paradise for hikers but also a historical tapestry interwoven with indigenous culture and relics from the Japanese colonial era. Every suspension bridge and every site of former police stations seems to tell the story of Taiwan's mountain forests.
Walking on the Walami Trail, time feels softer, and your steps become slower. It is a journey of dialogue with the mountains and a profound tribute to nature.
