Mount Hua is one of China's Five Great Mountains, known for its steepness and hailed as the "Most Dangerous Mountain Under Heaven." The recommended hiking route starts from Yuquan Temple. For daytime climbing, it's best to start at 8am, taking the traditional route to North Peak, then visiting Middle Peak, East Peak, South Peak, and West Peak in sequence. Those with good stamina can hike the entire route, which takes about 10-12 hours; alternatively, you can save energy by taking the cable car up and down. For night climbing, it's recommended to start at 10pm, taking 5-6 hours to reach East Peak for the sunrise 🌅.
Essential items: Light backpack 🎒, non-slip athletic shoes 👟, gloves 🧤 (for gripping chains), windproof jacket 🧥 (it's cold at the summit), hat 🧢, sunscreen 🧴, raincoat, flashlight 🔦 (for night climbing), water (2-3 bottles), energy bars or chocolate 🍫.
Food on the mountain is expensive, so it's advisable to bring your own snacks like bread 🍞, cookies 🍪, beef jerky 🥩, and high-calorie snacks such as chocolate 🍫 and Snickers. You can also buy instant noodles 🍜 and grilled sausages 🌭 from stalls along the way to replenish your energy.
⚠️ Notes:
☆1. Night climbing requires companions and proper lighting equipment.
❀2. The mountain paths are steep; know your limits and don't push yourself too hard.
☞3. Safeguard your belongings to avoid losses in crowded areas.
♛4. Check the weather forecast in advance and be cautious on rainy days.
★5. Those with fear of heights should be careful on Sparrowhawk's Somersault and Plank Walk sections.
♀6. Accommodation at the summit is expensive with basic conditions; book in advance or plan a same-day return.
