Carriages Move Slowly, Time Passes Gently—A Leisurely Journey in Huize

At dawn, I stood on the ancient stone-paved streets of Nagu Ancient Town, watching the blades of wind turbines slowly turning among the distant mountains. They resembled the hands of time, tracing gentle arcs over this ancient land. This is Huize, a place favored by time.

First Stop: Nagu Ancient Town, Amber of Time

In the idyllic scenery of the first photo, villages are scattered like chess pieces across fields of yellow and green, with distant mountains shrouded in mist. The wind turbines atop the mountains form a picture where modernity intertwines with antiquity against the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds. The second photo, titled "The First Station of the Thousand-Mile Imperial Transport," pulls me back into history. The pale yellow walls and gray-black reliefs vividly recreate the bustling streets of ancient times: stone-paved roads, traditional buildings, pedestrians, and carriages. It's as if one can hear the rumble of history's wheels. The red characters of "The First Station of the Thousand-Mile Imperial Transport" stand out prominently in the sunlight, narrating the glorious past of this key post on the Southern Silk Road. Touching the reliefs, the cool sensation under my fingertips seems to come from a distant past.

Second Stop: Huize Park, Silhouettes of History

Entering Huize Park, the bronze statue of Tang Jiyao (photo four) at night appears particularly solemn under the deep blue sky. This hero of the National Protection Movement sits on horseback, holding an object with a resolute expression. The inscription "Tang Jiyao Statue" on the pedestal is clearly visible under the lights, while the lush cypress trees in the background stand like loyal sentinels. During the day, Tang Jiyao's former residence (photo five) showcases his legendary life through the black couplets on the gateposts: "Hero of the National Protection Movement" and "Leader of the Double Ninth Uprising," as well as "A Humble Abode Sheltering the Nation's Soul for Eternity" and "A General's Sword Driving Away the Traitor Yuan." The red-brown doors and intricately painted blue eaves exude the unique charm of traditional Chinese architecture against the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds.

Third Stop: Huize Cultural Tourism Town, Dialogue Between Past and Present

The cultural tourism town is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. In photo three, the bronze sculpture of the ancient coin "Jiatongbao" is clearly inscribed with its name in the square hole at the center. The natural oxidation marks on its surface add a sense of historical weight. In the foreground, a modern red arched bridge filled with laughing tourists creates a scene of dialogue between the past and the present. The white tables and chairs surrounded by colorful succulent plants in photo six, and the traditional-style boats moored on the water in photo seven, convey the town's unique sense of leisure and comfort. Every detail, from the wooden fences to the stone-paved paths, reflects the meticulous craftsmanship of the designers.

Fourth Stop: Daqi Grassland, Nature's Gift

The final stop is Daqi Grassland. In photo eight, the massive project labeled "Asia's Largest Earth Dam" stands amidst verdant mountains and blue-green waters, creating a magnificent landscape. The logo of China Huadian reminds visitors of this modern engineering marvel, which seamlessly integrates with nature. The wind turbine clusters in photo nine represent the harmonious coexistence of modern energy and the highland grassland scenery. The white windmills spin under the blue skies and white clouds, while the low vegetation and expansive grasslands on the distant slopes stretch endlessly, evoking awe at the artistry of nature and the ingenuity of humanity.

Epilogue: Impressions of Huize

Throughout this journey, from the historical imprints of Nagu Ancient Town to the leisurely life of the cultural tourism town, from Tang Jiyao's heroic tales to the grandeur of modern engineering, Huize has revealed its multifaceted charm. Every stone, every building, and every wind turbine here tells its own story. As the sun sets, I stand on the grassland, gazing into the distance. The shadows of the wind turbines stretch long, like the history of this city—profound and enduring.

Huize, a place worth savoring slowly. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing one to fully appreciate the stories and warmth behind every scene.
