Hutou Mountain is a great place for hiking, enjoying nature, and exploring ancient temples. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and visit the famous stone carvings located on the mountain.

The character "虎" (hu) in Hutou Mountain originally refers to the character for "axe," meaning "axe." The name was derived from the shape of the peak, which resembles an upturned axe. Because the mountain range stretches endlessly, resembling a large, colorful tiger, the name "虎" (hu) has been passed down. At 1,102 meters, the peak is the highest in the city, and "Hufeng Muyun" (grazing clouds at Hufeng) is one of the city's eight scenic spots.
Hutou Mountain boasts a rich vegetation landscape, encompassing forests of pine and fir, as well as over 200 tree species, including juniper, Chinese tallow tree, Schima superba, tamarisk, tamarisk, and three-leaved redwood. The mountain's high peaks and dense forests naturally encourage a rich variety of birds and animals. South China tigers were once spotted here, and rabbits and bamboo partridges are no exception. When the morning light or sunset glow paints the valley a vibrant crimson, birds such as tits, cuckoos, turtledoves, and partridges often burst into song, accompanied by the gentle mountain breeze and gurgling streams, creating a captivating symphony of the mountains and forests.
The ancients said: "The bones of the mountain are in the stone, the interest of the mountain is in the water, the shape of the mountain is in the trees, and the spirit of the mountain is in its steepness, beauty, and height." In contrast, the Hutou Mountain not only has strange peaks and rocks, dangerous cliffs and deep ravines, waterfalls and springs, clouds, mist, flowers and trees, but also has ancient temples such as the Yunfeng Ancient Temple and the Nantianmen Jialan Hall. The natural scenery and religious culture complement each other.
The subtropical monsoon climate is suitable for all seasons.
