A Peach Blossom Spring Hidden in the Bustling City

This park is located on the left side of Huizhou Avenue⬅. At first glance, the four big characters "Beihu Park" stand on a round base of a large tree. From the avenue, you can only see a large patch of forest, which looks ordinary at first but is actually quite special upon closer inspection. Walking through the woods reveals another world.

You see small bridges, flowing water, and houses; the morning sun rises slowly from the bridgehead, the lake surface ripples gently, and birds chirp nonstop among the bamboo groves. Isn't this the legendary water town of Jiangnan? The pictures of this park I found online mostly look modern, with lakes, bald cypresses, bridges, and skyscrapers, which is completely different from what I see here. I think the photographers didn’t capture the other kind of beauty this scenery presents.

The park’s Jiangnan water town charm is best reflected in several small bridges of different styles. On the bridges, children fish; under the bridges, middle-aged people relax leisurely; occasionally, small groups of citizens stroll along the forest paths. From time to time, you can hear the sound of an elderly person playing the qin, as if everyone can find their own little corner for spiritual restoration here, each forming a unique scene without disturbing one another.

All the attractions around the lake are built encircling it. Besides the small bridges, several modern-style viewing platforms with various designs are set up at different sections, perfect for enjoying the scenery from different angles. After walking each section, I can’t help but look back to appreciate the view I just saw from another perspective, discovering a different kind of beauty. So, I took multiple photos of the same spot from different angles repeatedly. The saying "take a step and look back" probably describes my current state.
