Hulunbuir-Aoluguya Aoluguya is located in Genhe City, Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the Ewenki language, meaning "a place with lush poplar forests". It is the place where the most remote and mysterious branch of the Ewenki people lives. The Ewenki hunters of Aoluguya are "the last hunting tribe in China". They have been living with reindeer for generations. Aoluguya Township is known as the "Hometown of Reindeer". The Ewenki are the only ethnic group in China that raises reindeer. Aoluguya Township, known as the "Hometown of Reindeer Culture", has become one of the 10 "Hometowns of Chinese Folk Culture and Art" in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2011 to 2013, and is the only unit selected in Hulunbuir City.
Aoluguya is a small tribe among the three direct branches of the Ewenki people, the Yatog branch. The Ewenki people are the only ethnic minority in China that raises reindeer. Before the 1950s, the Ewenki hunters still maintained the production and living style of the late primitive society. They ate animal meat, wore animal skins, lived in huts that were neither cold-proof in winter nor rain-proof in summer, and made a living by raising reindeer. Today, the living conditions of the Ewenki hunters have changed dramatically, but their simple folk customs have been preserved.
Hulunbuir/The secret deep in the forest - Aoluguya reindeer 🦌 Deer can be seen in the deep forest, the only reindeer tribe in China~
Head to the coldest place❄️Genhe, and come for the reindeer🦌. This mysterious reindeer tribe——Aoluguya means "a place with lush poplar trees" in the Ewenki language🧙♀️. The Aoluguya Ewenki people mainly live in the northern part of the Greater Khingan Range. They are the only ethnic group in my country that makes a living by raising reindeer⭐️It is also known as "China's last hunting tribe"~
Reindeer are called "forest boats"🌳. They are animals that grow in cold regions. In China, they mainly grow in the cold and humid places in the northwest of Daxing'anling. Reindeer live in mosses🌱
The Ewenki hunters are a famous "deer herding tribe" in history. According to historians, the Ewenki ethnic group has three branches: Solon, Tungusic and Yakut. Among them, the Solon people are an agricultural tribe, and the Tungus people are a nomadic tribe. Today, most of these two Evenks live in the Evenk Autonomous Banner on the Hulunbuir grassland. The Yakuts are the Evenki hunters living in Aoluguya Township. They live in the dense forests of Greater Khingan Range by hunting and raising reindeer, making them the last hunting tribe in China. The Oroqen people, who live not far from here, put down their hunting rifles in 1996 and banned hunting completely.
In 1965, the Ewenki hunters moved from Qigan Township on the Ergun River on the Sino-Russian border to Aoluguya, where they settled down and started a new life.
