Datong Hanging Temple Visit Guide

Datong Hanging Temple is about 1.5 hours driving distance from Datong old town. Due to transportation control, we need to take the shuttle bus from the tourist centre which take about 10mins driving distance. You can also buy the attraction tickets at the tourist centre. The car park is big and convenient if you are driving.

The entrance ticket cost only RMB15 but the ticket to climb up the trample cost RMB100. There are limited tickets sold per day and you need to prebook in advance in order to grab the ticket during peak season.

We still have to walk for about 15mins from the bus stop to the hanging temple attraction entrance. There are food staffs and restaurants along the way which we can grab some simple foods.

We went during Nov time and on Friday which is considered off peak season. So we don’t have to queue and the whole visit took us only about 1 hour. The temple is very small, and the walkway is also less than 1m width which may look quite scary. Anyway, I feel safe when walking on top . It maybe difficult for old people who have mobility difficulties to climb up to the temple as some of the steps are quite steep. I will strongly recommend everyone to visit this historical place.
