Temple in the Sky?

#springitinerary Okay, Xuankong Temple (aka the Hanging Temple) is absolutely wild. Like, who thought building a full-on temple into the side of a cliff 75 meters up was a good idea? Somehow, they did it and it’s been chilling there for over a thousand years.
I showed up expecting a cool photo op, but it’s way more than that. Walking across those narrow wooden walkways with the cliff just… there under you? Low-key terrifying but also super cool. The views are insane, and the mix of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian stuff all in one place makes it extra interesting. It’s not a big place, but the vibes are unforgettable. Plus, the drive through the mountains getting there is kinda epic too. If you're anywhere near Datong, don’t skip this. It’s one of those "how is this even real?" places that totally sticks with you.
