Horyu-ji, which left a strong impression on me during history lessons. I always wanted to visit someday, and finally, I was able to visit Nara. I leisurely walked from the station to the temple.
Horyu-ji, located in Ikaruga Town, Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, is famous as the "world's oldest wooden architectural complex." It was founded in the 7th century by Empress Suiko and Prince Shotoku, boasting a history of over 1,300 years.
The five-story pagoda, main hall, and corridors are neatly aligned, exuding a solemnity as if time has stopped. Yet, walking through the precincts, there is a gentle atmosphere that calms the heart. Packed with national treasures and important cultural properties, it’s an irresistible spot for those who love Buddhist statues.
