Nestled in the Japanese Alps of Nagano, this samurai fortress-turned-park is famed for its 1,500+ deep pink kohigan cherries—a rare variety so vivid it’s called "Takato Red". Unlike pale Somei-Yoshino, these smaller, richer-hued blossoms blanket the ruins in a crimson-tinged dreamscape, backed by snow-capped peaks.
🌸Why It’s Legendary
✔ Samurai Sakura– Many trees planted by Takeda Shingen’s generals in the 1500s
✔ Alpine Backdrop – Blossoms contrast with the North Alps’ lingering snow(best mid-April)
✔ Night Samurai – Armor-clad performers patrol illuminated paths during festivals
