As a fan of Korean food, visiting the Jajangmyeon Museum in Incheon was such a fun and fascinating experience. Dedicated to Korea’s beloved black bean noodles, the museum takes you through the dish’s origins in Chinatown and how it became one of the country’s most iconic comfort foods. From old kitchen tools and recreated restaurant settings to displays about the cultural history of jajangmyeon, it was a quirky but genuinely interesting way to learn more about the food I’ve eaten so many times.
Of course, the highlight was seeing how deeply this humble noodle dish is woven into everyday Korean life, from old movies to family gatherings. It’s a small museum, so you don’t need a lot of time to explore, but it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re already visiting Incheon Chinatown. And honestly, nothing beats finishing up the visit by walking out into the nearby streets and sitting down to a steaming bowl of jajangmyeon right where the dish was born.
