🕉️A temple in the sky boasting over 500 years of history
Namgyal Tsemo Monastery is said to have been founded by the king of the Ladakh Kingdom in the early 16th century.
The main hall, with its red and white walls and built into the rock face, exudes a presence unchanged over the years.
Inside, a golden Maitreya Buddha statue over three meters tall and colorful thangkas (Buddhist paintings) are enshrined, creating a solemn atmosphere.

Rows of brown mud-walled houses stand side by side, and majestic mountains stretch out in the distance.
