🌙 What is Moonland?

Moonland, or Lamayuru, is located along the Srinagar-Leh highway, approximately 125 km from Leh. It's called "Land of the Moon" because of its unusual landscape, resembling the surface of the moon, formed by hundreds of years of rock and soil erosion.

Legend has it that this was once a large lake. Later, the 11th-century Buddhist philosopher Naropa dried it up, creating the wondrous landscape we see today.
