Build in 16 century, during the Ming dynasty period, located in the Temple of Earth Park. It corresponds to the Temple of Heaven. It was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped the “Emperor of the Earth” god. It was one of the “five altars and eight temples” in Beijing in the old days.
The Temple of Earth covers an area of 427,000 square meters and has two altar walls, which divide the altar area into two parts: the inner altar and the outer altar. The inner altar wall opens on all sides, with three north doors and one each for east, west and south. The outer altar wall only opens to the west. The layout is oriented to the north, and the three main groups of buildings are concentrated in the inner altar, namely the Fangzetan complex on the central axis (the central axis is slightly to the east), the Imperial Palace complex, and the Zhai Palace in the northwest of Fangzetan. In addition, there are ancillary buildings such as the god library, the slaughter pavilion, the bell tower, and the God Horse Hall in the Temple of Earth.
Tip ⭐️
Come in the morning to dance with aunties or do taijiquan with uncles.
There is also a very aesthetic coffeehouse. But it opens a little bit later. Tasty coffee and different pastries ( coffee 20-38 yuan, pastries 25-50 yuan) nice place to sit for a while and enjoy a slow start of a day.
Dress nicely because the surroundings are amazing 👗👗
