Malaysia | Belum Royal Park Nature Tour

Before entering Belum Royal Park, the local bird watching guide had already announced that there was no telephone signal in the park.

During the three days and two nights in the park, there is only the tranquil natural world and the simple life in harmony with nature.

Royal Belum State Park, whose full English name is Royal Belum State Park, is located in northern Malaysia, close to the border with Thailand. I would choose to use the word "lake area" to describe this park. The bird watching guide said that because of the construction of a dam, the water flow was blocked and the water from nearby rivers converged here to form this freshwater lake.

Belum Royal Park borders Thailand's Bang Lang National Park, forming a conservation corridor that gives mammals more space to move around. According to park managers, there are more than 3,000 species of plants, 100 species of mammals including Asian elephants, Asian tigers, Malayan bears, etc., and 300 species of birds recorded here.

After packing our luggage, we immediately took a speedboat to explore this lowland rainforest. It is said that the rainforest in Belum Royal Park is 130 million years old and is one of the oldest rainforests in the world.

At dusk, the park ranger sailed the boat to the base of a large fruit-bearing tree to watch the hornbills. There are a total of ten wild hornbill species recorded in Malaysia, all of which can be found in Belum Park, making it a hornbill paradise. Sitting in the boat and watching the hornbills flying proudly in the sky filled with colorful clouds is very picturesque.

The next day, we continued to take a boat to travel through the lake area and explore this natural paradise. We came to the trail of the second Base Camp to look for bird life, and then walked along the trail to Salt lick. This is the only place in the park where water flows through rocks and releases minerals. Different mammals come here to absorb the minerals they need. We saw deer footprints here and even heard elephants roaring nearby!

Belum Royal Park is a secluded paradise and a paradise for nature photography. When people are in nature, they are as peaceful as the lake in Belum Royal Park.
