Spectacular views of the sunrise, ocean, and cosmos! Shirakimine Plateau, Nagasaki Prefecture

Shirakimine Plateau in Nagasaki Prefecture is popular for its spectacular flower scenery with the Ariake Sea and Mount Unzen in the background. In spring, you can see cherry blossoms and 100,000 rape blossoms, and in autumn, about 200,000 cosmos flowers. [Photo 2] 6:12 AM We arrived just before sunrise. The sun hasn't come out yet, but the scenery is already spectacular! By the way, in spring, the cosmos change to rape blossoms, and cherry blossoms bloom on the trees to the right. Many people try to time it to catch the sunrise, so at this point the photo spot (the promenade along the cosmos, where you can get a panoramic view from the top of the hill) was quite full of people. [Photo 4] We went to the bottom of the hill and turned around to take a picture in the direction of where photos 1-3 were taken. [Photos 5-7] Colorful cosmos flowers were in bloom. [Photo 8] When I went in 2021, the cosmos had already passed their peak season, but the view lit up by the morning sun was still amazing.
