Istanbul is considered the only major city in the world located on two continents: Europe and Asia.

Istanbul is not the capital of Turkey, but it is the most important and has the largest area and population in Turkey!

Getting to Istanbul:
You can fly from Bangkok by direct flights and have to change planes easily. Currently, Thai Airways and Turkish Airlines fly directly between Bangkok and Istanbul.

Entry:
Thai people can travel to Turkey without a visa (can stay up to 30 days).

Currency and cost of living:
Turkey uses the Turkish Lira (TL) as the main currency, and important tourist attractions require tourists to pay in Euros.

However, the cost of living in Istanbul is much more expensive than Bangkok, especially food and entrance fees to various tourist attractions.

Accommodation in various areas:
- Taksim Square: This is a popular accommodation area for tourists because it is close to other tourist attractions and easy to travel to and from the airport. It is also a famous shopping area in Istanbul, Istikal Street.
- Sultan Ahmed: This is an old city area of Istanbul that is not too expensive. This area is close to tourist attractions. And other ancient sites such as The Blue Mosque / Hagia Sofia / Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar, etc.
- Galata: Near the port and important tourist attractions such as Galata Tower and Golden Horn
