"A huge stone arch suddenly appears in the middle of Istanbul. That's the Valens Aqueduct. Built in the 4th century during the Roman Empire, this aqueduct still has a spectacular presence.
Overview: A huge structure with a total length of about 1 km and a height of 29 m. Built during the Roman Empire to bring fresh water into the city, only a part of it remains today, blending into the city. It's amazing that it once carried water from a water source dozens of kilometers away!
Impressions: I was so surprised to see this bridge suddenly appear in front of me as I was walking that I exclaimed, "What! Is this it?" The arch continues majestically above the road, and the mixture of modern and ancient gave me a sense of Istanbul.
Access/Tips: About a 5-minute walk from Vezneciler Station on the M2 subway line. You won't get lost as you can see it as soon as you exit the street. The daytime light reflects beautifully on the stone, so it's best to visit in the afternoon. Please note that it is not lit up at night. If you are a history buff, this is a must-visit spot!
