Located at the southern end of Wenhua Road in the new Zhengzhou city center, the Zhengzhou Chariot and Horse Pit Scenic Area, surrounded by water on three sides and offering beautiful scenery, houses the burial site of the kings of the State of Zheng and their families during the Spring and Autumn Period. It is a key area of the Zheng-Han Ancient City Ruins, a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site. It contains over 3,000 Spring and Autumn tombs and 18 large and medium-sized chariot and horse pits, including nearly 180 tombs over 6 meters tall and four exceptionally large tombs exceeding 20 meters in both length and width.
The Zhengzhou Chariot and Horse Pit has a total planned area of 240 mu (approximately 166 acres), with the first phase covering 54 mu (approximately 166 acres) and a construction area of over 5,000 square meters. The site features a collection of Zheng State cultural relics, an excavation display area featuring the large, central-shaped tomb of Duke Zheng, a tomb of a high-ranking official, chariot and horse pits No. 1 and No. 3, a floor plan display of the tombs and chariot and horse pits, the Three Dukes Square, the Zichan Garden, the Yaowang Tower, a Zheng State cultural landscape wall, and a long corridor.
