Around 2pm on June 26th, I visited Galata Tower and started a solo walk. The tower feels even more magnificent up close! The historical atmosphere permeates every alleyway! As I walked along the narrow, cobblestone streets at my own pace, I naturally encountered small mosques with a warm, Turkish charm. Since it was daytime, I was able to slowly appreciate the buildings from their exteriors to their interiors, and the quiet sound of prayer made it a great place to linger and reflect.
Around the tower, there were many old bakeries, charming cafes, and unique souvenir shops, making it fun to browse. Sitting on a bench and watching locals and tourists pass by gave me a real sense of Istanbul's daily life. Even alone, I wasn't lonely at all, and I was able to fully enjoy the harmony of new culture and everyday life, so I was very satisfied with this course. Haha! Highly recommended if you're traveling solo!!
🕌 Solo Travel Tips
The tower observatory is relatively quiet around 2 p.m., so the lines are short and it's a great time to climb!
In small mosques, keep your phones on silent mode and remember basic etiquette.
Don't forget to stop by the cafes and bakeries hidden in every alley for a small snack or coffee.😊
