A Stylish Mosque in the Heart of Istanbul: Taksim Mosque

This afternoon at 2 PM, I visited Taksim Mosque, located right in the middle of Taksim Square. Its modern exterior amidst the urban setting caught my eye, and I was drawn to its unique atmosphere, prompting me to step inside. The architectural beauty of small arches blending with the massive dome provided a sense of calmness, contrasting with the bustling surroundings. The interior was bright and spacious, allowing me to explore comfortably without feeling overwhelmed, even on my own.

Upon entering the mosque, the combination of dazzling lights, intricate carpets, and modern wall decorations offered a simultaneous experience of tradition and novelty. During the daytime, natural light softly diffused through the walls and windows, creating a serene ambiance. Sitting quietly, I observed Muslims in prayer, which gave me a chance to experience an unfamiliar culture in a peaceful manner. Despite the religious atmosphere, it was easy to explore the mosque leisurely from a traveler’s perspective without feeling out of place.

The outdoor terrace provided a panoramic view of Istanbul’s cityscape, which was another satisfying aspect of the visit. The stark contrast between the lively square and the tranquil mosque left a lasting impression on me.
