Istanbul 🇹🇷

My journey to Istanbul was short but exciting and felt like a little life. Here, I came to realise that it’s the city of contrasts, busy streets, incredible history and forward looking people. You see - I’m very excited about it! ❤️🔥

In my final Istanbul post, I want to share my top 10 place I wholeheartedly recommend you to visit in your next visit of this beautiful city 🇹🇷✨

1️⃣ Hagia Sophia - once a church, then a mosque, now a museum. A true symbol of history and change. It looks unforgettably unique outside but I heard the interior is even more impressive. This time I wasn’t able to get inside, but I absolutely will next time!
2️⃣ Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) - famous for its six minarets and breathtaking interior decorated with blue tiles. It’s right next to the Sophia, so the square in between is equally busy and mesmerising.
3️⃣ Istanbul University - I love strolling around it, as it has some really iconic gates and a touch of the Orient.
4️⃣ Beyazit Mosque - one of the city’s oldest mosques, full of historic atmosphere. Truly majestic!!
5️⃣ Süleymaniye Mosque - the most majestic mosque in Istanbul and my personal favourite. Everything about it magnetise you and I really felt at peace every time I went there. Notably, there you can find the mausoleums of Sultan Suleyman and Hürrem Sultan.
6️⃣ Nuruosmaniye Mosque - a hidden gem of Ottoman baroque right in the heart of the city. You’d never miss it but might just not pay attention to it. Don’t miss out on it!
7️⃣ Süleymaniye Terrace - the perfect spot to watch unforgettable sunrises, sunsets and the city life in between. I do believe it’s one of the best free panoramic spots in all Istanbul!
8️⃣ Şehzade Mosque - a refined and elegant masterpiece, which Sultan Suleyman ordered to build to commemorate his son Şehzade Mehmed who died young.
9️⃣ The Bosphorus - take a boat to see the city from the water: bridges, palaces, and lively shores. It was the highlight of my trip.
🔟 Gülhane Park & Topkapi - a peaceful park and the former residence of Ottoman sultans with priceless treasures. Could spend hours there.

🌿 What’s your favourite Istanbul spot?
