Colorful Istanbul | Travel Guide

☀️ Summer Photography Alert: Istanbul's sunlight is a double-edged sword. It’s as bright as a "natural spotlight," but it can also leave you sunburned!
• From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the light is harsh—buildings may get overexposed, and faces may appear dark. It's better to hide in a café to edit photos or take backlit silhouette shots (like the fishermen on Galata Bridge).
• Sun protection: Use sunscreen (SPF50+). Don’t make my mistake—I ended up with a sunburned neck that hurt for the entire trip.

🕌 Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque)
Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Summer); 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Winter). Closed around noon on Fridays.
Best Photography Times:
• Daytime: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (sunlight streaming through stained glass windows, perfect for silhouette shots). Be cautious of overexposure under strong summer light.
• Nighttime: 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM (when the lights are on)! Fewer tourists, and the warm lighting beautifully outlines the domes and minarets—10 times better than daytime shots!
⚠️ Nearby Attractions: Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace are within a 5-minute walk, so you can visit them together.
