One of the most picturesque and significant straits globally, it connects the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, serving as the only sea access for nations like Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and Georgia. It's renowned for its cruises that often conclude at its northern entrance and the quaint fishing villages along its coast, particularly Anadolu Kavagi. Visiting Istanbul isn't complete without sailing the strait, whether it's a full-length cruise, a fancy dinner cruise, or just a brief crossing. From Eminonu pier, you can take a public transport cruise to Anadolu Kavagi; the journey takes about 90 minutes. Spend around three hours in the village, enjoy a seafood dinner, and perhaps hike to Yoros Castle atop the hill. There's also a night cruise available once a week. Alternatively, numerous private, pricier cruises operate daily.
