From Tokyo Station, it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach the nearest Izu Kogen Station. The hotel has a scheduled shuttle bus to take guests to and from Izu Kogen Station. You can contact the hotel by email in advance.
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were immediately greeted by a butler who served us small desserts, hot towels and fresh matcha. We were received by a Taiwanese lady, so there was no need to worry about the language barrier. There is a vending machine next to the front desk, which is free and filled with Haagen-Dazs, which is very enjoyable.
We checked into the villa that day, which was some distance away from the main building and restaurant. The villa had floor heating, so we didn't feel cold even though the weather was cold. The mini bar was completely free, even with a large bottle of champagne. The bathroom amenities were from Bvlgari, and the hair dryer was from Dyson. All the supplies in the villa are luxurious.
The villa has its own hot spring pool where you can soak to your heart's content. More expensive villas even have their own swimming pools where you can not only soak in the hot springs but also swim in the summer.
I spent a day leisurely in this hotel. Although I lost money, I was able to really relax for two days. It was all worth it. This hidden hot spring hotel is something you really have to visit once in your lifetime to experience a luxurious journey.
