Visiting Jakarta during the Dragon Boat Festival, the Istiqlal Mosque is located in the city center of Jakarta. It is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and a symbol of Indonesia's independence. Completed in 1978, this mosque features spectacular architecture and spacious courtyards, serving as an important place of worship for Muslims.
The mosque has a huge dome with a modern and simple exterior, while the interior is beautifully decorated, blending traditional Muslim art with modern design. The tall bell tower offers visitors a chance to climb up and overlook the cityscape of Jakarta with a wide view. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the prayer area, they can experience the sacred atmosphere in the public areas, making it a great place to visit during the Dragon Boat Festival.
