Japanese Temple with a Good View in Autumn

Onsenji Temple is located on a mountain in the western part of Kinosaki City in Hyogo Prefecture. It is considered a very prominent and famous temple in this city. Its appearance and architecture may not be any different from other temples, but what makes this temple a popular place for tourists to visit is its highlight that everyone must come down and see at least once: the “Kannon Buddha.”

The Kannon Buddha is considered a valuable treasure of the temple. What is more, it is unique in that it is an Eleven-headed Kannon Buddha, and is 2 meters tall. What makes it even more interesting is that it is not open to the public all year round. It is open to the public every 33 years, and is open for viewing for only 3 years on April 23-24 during the Onsen Matsuri Festival every year. Also, near the main hall is the Kinosaki Art Museum, which exhibits interesting historical artifacts and other treasures of the temple. Kinosaki Cable Car Station is a viewpoint where you can see the mountaintop. I must say that the view here is so beautiful that I would give it a hundred points. It can be said that Onsenji Temple is one of the must-see temples in Kinosaki.
