Jeju Natural Stone Sculptures

Jeju is known for its porous volcanic rock called basalt, which has a distinct appearance compared to the smooth granite commonly found in inland regions. Visitors from other areas often find this unique feature intriguing.

This basalt is formed when lava cools and solidifies, leaving air pockets that create natural sculptures. One famous example is the Harubang (meaning "grandfather" in Jeju dialect) face.

The Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum offers 🈚️ free lockers for storing belongings, 🦽 ramps for disabled individuals, and 👵🧓 elderly-friendly facilities.

Additionally, the viewing route is marked on the ground, making it easy to explore at a leisurely pace.
