Beyond its historical value, the Byeolbangjin Fortress is situated in an incredibly picturesque location, commanding a stunning view of the surrounding coastline. The walls sit right by the sea, offering sweeping vistas of the ocean and the rugged volcanic shoreline. It’s a wonderful spot to simply stand, feel the sea breeze, and appreciate the beautiful, raw landscape that the fortress was built to guard. The contrast between the ancient, dark basalt stones of the structure and the clear, bright blue of the sea makes for excellent photography and a genuinely reflective experience.
