5-Day, 4-Night Jeju Island Self-Guided Tour: Grilled Whole Hairtail Fish in Gwanghae, Summit Hallasan Mountain, and Must-Try Aged Pork

On this trip to Jeju Island, I had the most delicious grilled hairtail and climbed Hallasan Mountain in eight hours despite the harsh weather. Five days and four nights, each day was filled with surprises and hard work!

· Day 1 | Arrival at Jeju Island + Samdo Jeju Vegetable Wrap
I arrived at Jeju Airport in the afternoon and bought a bus pass. Then I took the bus to my hotel and checked in. I found a local restaurant nearby (Samdo Jeju Vegetable Wrap).

· Day 2 | London Bagel + Udo Island Tour + Seongsan Ilchulbong

Early in the morning, I took a bus eastward along the coast and had brunch at the London Bagel Museum. From Seongsanpo Port, I took a ferry to Udo Island. There, I rented an electric scooter to tour the island and had sea urchin and abalone bibimbap. Then, I went to a café near Hagosudong Beach for an iced Americano and peanut ice cream. In the afternoon, I returned to Seongsan-ri and climbed Seongsan Ilchulbong. For dinner, I had BHC fried chicken. It was delicious, freshly fried and juicy. *Seongsan Ilchulbong has a paid, more challenging route and a free one.

· Day 3 | Grilled Hairtail + Seogwipo + Olle Market
1. Took a bus to the west to eat at a famous hairtail restaurant. The grilled hairtail was delicious and the portions were generous. In the afternoon, I went to Olle Market near Seogwipo and bought red bean and orange mochi. I also bought some bread and snacks to enjoy on the hotel balcony. It was so relaxing and cozy.

· Day 4 | Green Tea Museum + Muensu Shop + Yuseongdo BBQ
1. I took an Uber to the O'sulloc Tea Museum. The green tea ice cream was delicious. They also sell a lot of tea-related products and have many tea fields. In the afternoon, I went to downtown Jeju and browsed the duty-free shops. For dinner, I ate at the Yuseongdo Jeju branch. I highly recommend the pork. I recommend making a reservation through Catchtable. For supper, I ordered Frank Burger. The beef cheeseburger and mushroom burger were both delicious.

Day 5 | Hallasan Baekrok Lake (Seongpanak Ascent, Gwaneumsa Descend) + Return Trip
1. Depart from the Hallasan Seongpanak Ticket Office at 4:30 AM. Remember to book online and bring your passport for entry. You can find details online. There are several routes, but the Seongpanak route is more challenging. The descent from Seongpanak to Gwaneumsa took almost 8 hours due to poor weather.
*You'll receive a certificate for both the ascent and descent.
*It's recommended to bring all your hiking gear. The summit is very cold, and the trail can get wet if it rains, so waterproof shoes are recommended.

‼ ️Some buses don't accept luggage, and some require you to drive your own bus.
