I declare that autumn in Shaxi is the pinnacle of Yunnan aesthetics!

The aftereffect is so strong! I declare, the end of Dali is Shaxi!
If Dali is about romance and beauty, then Shaxi, 100 kilometers away, is Yunnan’s last gentle gift to the world. 🍂
This is the only "living" ancient market on the Tea Horse Road and the real filming location of "To the Windy Place." No noise, no commercialization, time here seems to slow down to half speed.
Here, I found the life I long for:
At 7 a.m., go to Yujin Bridge to wait for the morning mist, watch it drift over the century-old stone bridge, surrounded by an ethereal aura.
In the morning, wander aimlessly along the Heihui Riverbank, listening to the sound of horse hooves clattering on the stone pavement.
In the afternoon, by the ancient opera stage under the phoenix trees, order a cup of hand-brewed coffee ☕ and watch Bai ethnic grandmothers quietly doing tie-dyeing.
At dusk, chase the sunset over the rice fields at Dongzhaimen, watching the golden waves of wheat roll with the wind.
At night, slip into the Vanguard Bookstore on Sideng Street, read a book about Yunnan’s scenery, and feel an unparalleled peace within.
🚶【One-day slow Citywalk route】
Morning: Yujin Bridge (watch morning mist) → Heihui Riverbank
Noon: Ancient Opera Stage (drink coffee) → Ouyang Courtyard (watch tie-dyeing)
Dusk: Dongzhaimen (watch sunset) → Sideng Street (visit bookstore)
If you are tired of the fast pace of the city and want to find a place to truly "slow down," come to Shaxi.
There are no stunning attractions here, but there is the warmth of everyday life that can heal everything.
