Nestled in the Xixi Fan Scenic Area of Qiantan Town, Jiande City, on the west bank of the Xu Stream (a tributary of the Fuchun River), Hangzhou Fangwai Fuchun Hotel is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces water on one, like a pristine land embedded in the "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" painting. Just a 1.5-hour drive from downtown Hangzhou and approx. 17 km from Jiande High-Speed Rail Station, it offers convenient access while remaining blissfully secluded. Guests arrive by boat across emerald waters, where a butler awaits at the dock—this poetic boarding ritual instantly transports you to a hidden paradise.
As the debut property of New Century's luxury resort brand "Fangwai," the hotel was designed by the China Academy of Art team. Embracing the philosophy of "a sanctuary beyond the mundane," it masterfully blends traditional Zen aesthetics with modern minimalism. Black-tiled, white-walled buildings cascade along mountain contours, their gray-white palette harmonizing with the natural landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame picturesque views, while interplaying indoor-outdoor light reveals the profound artistry of Eastern negative space.
Fifty-two villa-style guestrooms dot the lakeside forest, each poetically named ("Bathing in Breeze," "Listening to Rain," "Gazing at Clouds"). Ranging from 45–310m², they offer exceptional privacy. Warmth emanates from light wood and soft orange tones, complemented by underfloor heating, Nespresso machines, and freestanding tubs. Toiletries feature UK boutique brand La Source or custom fragrances. Thoughtful touches—handwritten notes, artisanal fruit platters, and tea sets—elevate every moment.
Dining follows the "seasonal eating" philosophy, highlighting Hangzhou cuisine and Fuchun River delicacies:
• **Bujue All-Day Dining**: Local ingredients shine in signature dishes like braised pork with preserved vegetables, steamed white fish, and Jiande tofu buns.
• **Chajue Lakeside Teahouse**: Sip Fuchun Longjing tea with traditional pastries while admiring Xu Stream vistas.
• **Yizun Forest Bar**: Savor craft cocktails under starry skies, serenaded by crickets.
"Gliding on jade waves, one dwells within a painting." Here, time slows—mountains and water become life's canvas. No rush, just ripples from oars, birdsong in the trees, and a meditative dialogue with oneself. Fangwai Fuchun isn’t merely a hotel; it’s a reconciliation of retreat and return.
