Must-visit Attractions
- Mount Fanjing: A famous Buddhist and summer resort mountain. Take the cable car from the East Gate of Heiwang River in Jiangkou County. The ticket costs 130 RMB (including sightseeing bus and cable car). The mushroom rock, Red Cloud Golden Summit, and Old Golden Summit on the mountain offer spectacular views.
- Zhongnanmen Historical and Cultural Tourism Area: Located on Zhongshan Road in Bijiang District, it is the only remaining and most complete Ming and Qing dynasty historical and cultural street in Guizhou Province. Transportation Guide
- External Transportation: Tongren Fenghuang International Airport offers flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, and other cities. Upon arrival, take the airport shuttle bus to Tongren Station, then transfer to a bus to the scenic spots. Tongren Station is closer to Mount Fanjing and the city center and has more convenient public transportation than Tongren South Station.
- Internal Transportation: Tongren Bus Station has shuttle buses to various districts and counties. Direct buses run from Tongren Station or Tongren South Station to the East Gate of Mount Fanjing. You can follow "Guizhou Long-distance Bus Tickets" to book in advance.
Food Recommendations
Special local dishes include Guoba noodles, Jiao Jiao fish, fried cured meat with fern cake, fried rice cakes, Jiangkou rice tofu, and She rice. These can be tasted at the food streets near Mount Fanjing Scenic Area or in the city, where prices are generally lower than in the scenic area.
