Chaozhou, Shantou, and Jieyang 8-hour food tour!

First stop: Shuangfeng Temple. The temple is currently being expanded and renovated, so it is temporarily closed to the public. However, you can still take photos outside. It is one of the three famous temples in Chaozhou, along with Kaiyuan Temple and Lingshan Temple. The "Evening Bell of Shuangfeng" is one of the eight scenic spots in Jieyang. It is the largest ancient temple in Jieyang, built in the 10th year of the Shaoxing period of the Song Dynasty (1140). The original site was in Shuangshan Village, Guiling Town, Panshi County, and was founded by Master Fashan.

After visiting the temple, have breakfast at Feiyan Sanxiang Guozhi. This is an old and authentic Guozhi restaurant in the market, frequented by locals. For 10 yuan, you can add marinated eggs, bitter melon, pig skin, marinated meat, and yuba (all must-try).

Second stop: Jieyang Xuegong. Free admission. Closed on Mondays. Open from 9:00 to 11:30 and 14:30 to 17:00. Many people take wedding photos here, and the red walls make for great photos. Also known as "Jieyang Confucius Temple" or "Wen Temple", it is one of the three major Confucian temples in Guangdong. It was built in the 10th year of the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1140) and was extensively renovated in the 2nd year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1876). The existing building complex consists of 21 single buildings, covering an area of about 16,000 square meters. It is the largest, most complete, and best-preserved historical building complex of its kind in Lingnan, and is also a national key cultural relic protection unit.

After visiting, have lunch at Yi He Ri Ri Xian Beef Hot Pot · Beef Fried Rice Noodles · Beef Rice Noodles. 15 yuan per bowl, with the option to add meat and balls. Locals also come here to eat. The rice noodle soup is very fresh, and the beef is tender and smooth - 15 yuan.

Then have a dessert at Han Ci Yang Ji Sweet Soup. 4 yuan per bowl. The main dish is green bean and water chestnut soup. It is recommended to order the cold version, which is more delicious.

Third stop: 🧭 Fushan Xing Coffee Shop - A coffee shop worth visiting for photos. It is a renovated old Chaozhou house with a retro style and a large area. You can relax on the second-floor terrace or the courtyard lawn. The drinks and desserts also incorporate Chaozhou characteristics, giving it a unique style.

For dinner, eat at Jin'an Street Food Stall, a restaurant frequented by locals. A bowl of white porridge with a variety of side dishes to choose from, and the price is very reasonable. The dishes in the picture cost only 25 yuan.
